Details, Fiction and what is book value in stock market
Book value is not the same as market value. The market value of the protection is predicated on its market price at a particular point in time, and is particularly impacted by fluctuations in the market. As noted, book value plus the metrics derived from it originate from balance sheet quantities -- which may not be a real representation of value.
